The idea came from a sports shoe retailer who wanted its customers to remember the\u00a0brand when receiving running shoes, to\u00a0encourage running outdoors in the new footwear\u00a0by influencing their senses with the smell of freshly cut grass.\u00a0The innovative businesses worked together to create fresh new packaging for sports shoes.<\/p>\n

According to research carried out by the U.K.’s\u00a0Daily Mail<\/em>, the smell of fresh grass is the third favorite smell in the U.K., with the smell of freshly baked bread coming first, closely followed by the smell of bacon.<\/p>\n Recent scent marketing research also highlights that 75% of all emotions generated each day are due to smell, and because of this, we are 100 times more likely to remember something we smell over something we see, hear or touch.<\/p>\n \u201cScent has the strength to influence behavior and trigger memories almost instantly, and teamed up with other forms of marketing such as packaging, what better way to create a memorable brand experience.\u201d said Hulley.<\/p>\n
